It’s growth. It’s evolution. It’s pop with depth! It’s everything!!!!! These were some of the descriptions used by Lady Gaga‘s suck-up Perez Hilton when describing her new song ‘Born This Way’, even going as far as saying the song will change pop culture. The upbeat cut was even proclaimed as this generation’s ‘Thriller’. Yes, Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller’.
So in all honesty. Did Lady Gaga deliver with the overly hyped up ‘Born This Way’? The answer is NO. SHE DID NOT. Whilst I’ll admit to the Fernando Garibay produced cut being a grower (and gets better with each listen), it is just not that groundbreaking. She played it safe and I’ll even go as far to agree with the many folks on twitter when they say the production is pretty much a carbon copy of Madonna‘s ‘Express Yourself’. There are also some hints of Kylie Minogue and a bit of ‘Vogue’ in there as well. It definetely has some 80s inspired influences.
Gaga’s self-penned ‘Born This Way’ IS in deed a very gay anthem. It has an edgy disco-driven electronically charged beat but 20 years from now, no one will have high appraisal for it. The track lacks originality and is very uninspiring.
Lady Gaga treated her little monsters to the official premiere of her new single ‘Born This Way’, today. The wait is finally over and everyone can now hear it for themselves! Everyone from her producers and make-up artists have over hyped the song, deeming it as ‘epic’.
The track was penned by Gaga and produced by Fernando Garibay. Does the song deliver? Stay tuned for my review, and listen to the track below!
In an interview with Vogue’s Jonathan Van Meter, Lady Gaga discussed her upcoming album ‘Born This Way’. The pop phenom revealed a few song titles from the record. The 17-track CD will include ‘Hair’, ‘Bad Kids’, ‘Government Hooker’, ‘Americano’ and the *confirmed* second single ‘Judas’. After it was reported that Gaga plagiarised the lead single, the magazine conveniently states that the track now “pays homage” to the obscure underground disco record ‘I Was Born This Way’.
They say the song starts off a little Madonna-esque before “switching into something that feels a bit like a Bronski Beat hit”. They call it a “Gaga original” which will unbelievably become thee “great dance song, destined to be the anthem of every gay-pride event for the next 100 years”. She says she wrote the track in ten minutes, which would explain why the lyrics are not that amazing. Read more on the song descriptions below.
Courtesy of her close pal Perez Hilton, Lady Gaga has debuted the official artwork for her new single ‘Born This Way’. The celebrity blogger got his hands on an exclusive glimpse of the overly airbrushed CD cover, which was shot by Nick Knight, the very person who directed her music video for the track.
‘Born This Way’ will premiere on the radio everywhere this coming friday, and she is set to perform the track at The Grammy Awards two days later on Feb 13th! Do you like the artwork?
In the upcoming interview, which was filmed late last year in London, the 24-year-old pop phenom discusses her upcoming new album ‘Born This Way’ for the first time. Be prepared for this interview to pull in some major ratings!
Pop phenom Lady Gaga has announced that her latest new single, ‘Born This Way’ will debut on Friday (Feb 11th). Gaga’s monsters are definetely in for a treat after her latest tweet. “Can’t wait any longer, single coming Friday,” the pop star wrote on twitter earlier today (Feb 7th).
The single premiere would come two days earlier as opposed to waiting until Feb 13th. This is the date where she is set to perform the track on this Sunday’s Grammy Awards (Feb 13th). Be prepared to be amazed or disappointed. Roll on Friday. Roll on!!!!
Three days before her anticipated performance at The Grammy Awards, Rihanna is rumoured to deliver her first US televised performance of controversial single ‘S&M’. Online whispers state that the 22-year-old singer will take to the stage at The Ellen Degeneres Show on February 10th. The performance will be followed by The Grammy Awards where she will take to the stage with Drake. Two days later, she will then perform at The Brit Awards on Feb 15th.
Lady Gaga has been confirmed to appear/perform on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, February 14th, a day after her first televised performance of new single ‘Born This Way’ at The Grammys. Her ’60 Minutes’ interview for the new album will air on CBS one hour before The Grammy Awards on Feb 13th! She is set to perform The Ellen Degeneres Show and more at a later date.
I am seriously starting to believe it was written in the contracts of every single person on Gaga’s payroll to overhype the project because this is becoming borderline insane. Next thing, they will be saying this album will rival Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller’, and anyhow that happens, you will see me in an early grave (literally).
Lady Gaga treated her little monsters to the official lyrics of her new single, ‘Born This Way’, today. Everyone from her producers and make-up artists have over hyped the song, deeming it as ‘epic’, a song that will bring you to tears and have you reaching out for salvation. A song that will make you feel liberated and change your life for the greater good.
Too bad the same cannot be said for the songs lyrics which appear to be a dancier take on Christina Aguilera‘s classic ‘Beautiful’. The track, which was penned by Gaga and produced by Fernando Garibay once again sees the singer becoming the voice of gay people and rehashing a concept that has been done a million times over. Is she trying too hard?
BET’s President of Music Programming Stephen Hill has tweeted some anticipating news about Lady Gaga‘s new album ‘Born This Way’, even name dropping a new song title in the process. He went on to say that he has heard “six CRAZY new Lady Gaga tracks!” describing the new music as “aural energy that had my speakers gasping for water afterwards”. He then continued: “The joint ‘Edge of Glory’… phenomenal!”
‘Edge of Glory’ is the new confirmed cut from the project, although it is not yet known who produced it. The pop phenom previously tweeted some rather spiritual and poetic lyrical content from the track: “I’m on the Edge of Glory, and I’m counting on a moment of truth. I’m on the Edge of Glory, and I’m counting on a moment with you”. This takes the number of confirmed ‘Born This Way’ songs to four including the new single, ‘Born This Way’, her concert debuting ‘You and I’ and the house-laced ‘Scheiße’, a decoy remix track in which she premiered at last week’s Thierry Mugler menswear show in Paris.
The upcoming music video of Britney Spears is not the only impending visual recieving excessive hype. It is being reported that on Monday morning, fellow pop phenom Lady Gaga finished shooting the music video for her new single ‘Born This Way’. The cut is lifted from her upcoming album of the same name. Stylist Nicola Formichetti, who works with Gaga on all her videos, described the clip as “the most amazing thing ever.”
Gaga spent a maximum of three days shooting the music video, which is widely rumoured to feature transsexuals and a worn glass dress. Good to see nothing has changed there then. Hopefully, it’s not an over the top, 10-minute presentation that fails to deliver. Quality over quantity works best in my opinion. However, I can very much appreciate her determination to take the standard of music videos to the “next level”, something Michael Jackson has always been known for.
The new song in which Lady Gaga premiered and created for the Thierry Mugler menswear show in Paris this week is titled ‘Scheiße’. The remixed track is featured on Gaga’s new album ‘Born This Way’, due out on May 23rd. The remix does not include the chorus, but the energy of the track is said to be identical to the actual album version.
So there you have it, the second official cut confirmed from the new LP. The electronically fueled house cut is sure to soak up the dancefloors everywhere and whilst it’s not as ‘epic’ or ‘liberating’ as she’d have you believe, it was in fact a cohesive choice for a high profile fashion show.
Lady Gaga remixed a new song from ‘Born This Way’ yesterday for the Thierry Mugler fashion show in Paris. Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti has just debuted a short film featuring Gaga’s remix in high quality.
The electronically fueled house cut is partly sung in German and is contagious enough to spill blood on those dancefloors everywhere! The song was remixed by Gaga herself who did not attend the event for yesterday’s menswear show. Take a listen to the track in its entirety below.
Lady Gaga debuted the official remix of her new single ‘Born This Way’ earlier today at the Thierry Mugler fashion show in Paris. The original version of the song will premiere on the night of The Grammys (Feb 13th), where she is confirmed to perform. The track is lifted from her upcoming new album, also titled ‘Born This Way’ (out on May 23rd).
The audio is not that great but you can make out that it’s very techno-driven. Tomorrow afternoon, Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti will debut a short film featuring Gaga’s remix. The footage will premiere on both Mugler.com and Stylelist.com. Therefore, we’ll soon get a much better/lengthier quality of the song. Stay tuned.
Lady Gaga‘s third leg RedOne now refuses to reveal any further details about her upcoming new single because of how exceptional it is. “I think it’s too precious to talk about” he explained to MTV recently. “It’s so beautiful, and Gaga is very special to all of us — to the world”.
As much as I enjoy Lady Gaga’s secular music, it’s not exactly the most groundbreaking. The more her new music is hyped up, the worst it will be for her when that first single fails to live up to expectations. Gaga has already disappointed me with (allegedly) casting transsexuals for her new music video and I would not even be surprised if a long list of disappointments continue to pile up in the weeks to come.
Lady Gaga is said to be shooting her upcoming music video for ‘Born This Way’ next week in New York City. It has also been alleged that she has started the casting process for transsexual screen stars. Her team reportedly attended a transsexual party hosted by Alannah Starr this weekend in NYC for the casting.
Gaga is really milking this whole gay rights angle into the ground (assuming this is true of course). She might even be exploiting it for controversy and album sales. Plus, it’s not like she hasn’t been there before (remember that tragic ‘Alejandro’ video?). As a result, it is starting to look desperate. There are lots of constructive ways in which she could have put her message across, as with the case when she wore that outrageous meat dress. Gaga will premiere ‘Born This Way’ live at the Grammy Awards ceremony on the day of its release (Feb 13th). Her new album, also named ‘Born This Way’ will be out on May 23rd.
Looks like Lady Gaga has found yet another promotional platform to launch her new music from her new album ‘Born This Way’. According to reports, Nicola Formichetti, the new creative director at the Thierry Mugler fashion house and stylist to Lady Gaga, has tapped the pop heavyweight to produce an exclusive soundtrack for his men’s wear show in Paris on Wednesday.
Apparently, the singer has been propositioned with the “musical director” role for the show. The Men’s Fashion Week will run through Jan 23rd in the French capital where the singer will remix a never-heard track from her forthcoming LP, which is due out in May. This news was also confirmed by the singer on Twitter just under an hour ago. Gaga certainly isn’t playing with her promotion!
Pop phenon Lady Gaga is coming back at the same time as her fellow pop heavyweight Britney Spears and things will become really interesting next month. A snippet of an unreleased Gaga song has just surfaced in the form of ‘Animal’.
Reportedly, the track is an old demo which will NOT feature on the singer’s hotly anticipated new album ‘Born This Way’. Take a listen to the drum-driven cut after the jump.
Lady Gaga‘s choreographer Laurieann Gibson has just confirmed that the pop phenom WILL perform at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. The show will be held on February 13th in Los Angeles. Gaga will premiere her brand new single ‘Born This Way’ on the same day.
It looks like Gaga will premiere the song with a performance. Not that we didn’t know already because it was kind of obvious that this is what they would go for. Plus it makes a lot of sense to premiere the song on such a prestigious Awards show.
Lady Gaga is proving to be Queen of the promo this year. Not content with having her new single premiere on Grammy night (February 13th), the singer looks to have given popular TV show consent to dedicate an episode to her upcoming single ‘Born This Way’. Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy also confirmed the future episode:
“I love that that song is anthem” says Murphy. “I don’t really know what that’s going to be, but I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song”. Even Glee has gone Gaga crazy! How long will it be before they do one for Britney Spears? The special episode is scheduled to air in April or May and will be centered around Dave Karofsky, played by Max Adler. Glee gets increasingly interesting by the minute. There IS a reason why I’m addicted to the show.
