“Beysus” takes the wheel during a random photoshoot, which she posted to her Instagram last night. Beyoncé drives a UPS truck, ahead of her ‘Mrs. Carter Show’ world tour, which kicks off in Belgrade, Serbia, on April 15th.
With the way her tour has been selling, Beyoncé is set to dominate those forthcoming Forbes lists soon. She’s reigning in those cheques but poor Keri Hilson is still reeling from online attacks years after she allegedly sniped at the singer in her ‘Turnin’ Me On’ remix. I hate to say it but you don’t mess with her fans, and when you do, you subject yourself to that treatment for life. More deets below.

Ready for the ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ songstress to return? Me too. Keri Hilson‘s new album will be a melting pot of genres, according to the singer. Keri chatted with Rap-Up TV about the project, confirming that the record will be a blend of previous albums ‘In a Perfect World’ and ‘No Boys Allowed’. She says: “I didn’t want to lose the fans that do love what I have done in the past, but there is growth that has happened. I’m all about blending the worlds of pop and hip-hop and R&B all in a pot.”
For the project, she has enlisted Planet VI, as well as Timbaland and Polow Da Don, who were executive producers on previous albums. She also hints that Kanye West could also appear as a collaborator. We shall soon see if Keri can actually rebound from her Nigerian flop concert back in November. It seems she really is ready to slay us with this new album, and she’s going to need to slay us hard, given that the woman she despises is set to dominate this year.

For most of 2012, Keri Hilson has kept herself from the spotlight, recording her new album and filming her acting debut alongside Vin Diesel. When can we expect the first single? Find out below!
Prior to performing last week on VH1 Divas, the singer/songwriter gave a short interview backstage on the album and single. She also expresses her excitement about making her acting debut alongside Vin Diesel in the sci-fi film, ‘The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking.’

Congrats on that movie role, but we really care more about that follow-up to her sophomore album ‘No Boys Allowed’. It’s been a long time coming, and she knows it all too well.
“My fans have been super patient with me. I took a little break, and I’m back” she says. She confirms that the album will definitely drop next year with the first single expected to drop in the first quarter. Fingers crossed!

Messy! Kelly ‘flatnote’ Rowland was joined on stage by Keri Hilson and Adam Lambert at last night’s ‘Vh1 Divas: Diva Dance Party’ ceremony. They put forth a Donna Summer tribute but Kelly failed to do Ms Summer some justice on the vocal tip.
Kelly started the tribute with ‘Bad Girls’ before Keri then hit the stage with ‘She Works Hard for the Money’. Host Adam Lambert joined them before all three of them united for the final song ‘Last Dance’.
I hope Kelly has a good excuse for sounding like crap last night. She always struggles to project her vocals and maintain breath control. That’s quite sad considering that she’s been in the game for 15 years and still sounds… like THAT. It explains why Beyonce is the star… and she isn’t. Check out her poor delivery below.
Keri is not a powerhouse vocalist in any shape or form but at least she sung in key and as for Adam Lambert, at least he had the vocals to sing a Donna Summer song. My advice to Kelly is that after 15 years in the game, it’s time to hire yourself a vocal coach, love.

Keri Hilson continues to speak on the heartbreaking route that her new album will take direction from.
“The worst breakup I’ve ever had is the reason for the tone of my third album that I’m still writing, still going through” she says, and referring to the offering as “some of my best worst yet.” Is she really expecting to be the new Adele this era?
Because what she really lacks in which Adele has a powerful pocket of, is an actual hardcore fanbase. It does not hurt that her powerhouse vocals remain a stand out to this day. Pain and heartbreak, for some reason, always produces crack music that touches the hearts of many. Mary J Blige‘s earlier work was groundbreaking. But that was well, Mary, and we all know how much her struggle has been documented.
I enjoy Keri’s music though, even though there’s not much demand for it. She always has a song or two on there which gets me. I’m very excited for the new album. She also talks about her apocalyptic dreams and how they feature UFOs.

Melody Thornton attended the Elle magazine Women in Music gala in Hollywood last night, and all we saw were nipples!
Nipple-baring in public is fast becoming the shock tactic trend of the 21st century, although it’s a fashion statement most parents would not want their daughters to divulge. Out of all the urban-pop chicks this year, Rihanna is the one that’s been the most consistent with her nipple-baring. And more and more pop chicks are popping out to join the club. Notice how many of them have underwhelming music careers. Sure, an “accidential” nip slip will certainly get you more inches inside a newspaper column but not do much else to boost album sales. Just say no to sheer if you can’t do it in a classy way.

Songstress Keri Hilson lays down vocals for ‘Freedom Ride’!
The cut, lifted from the ‘Think Like a Man’ soundtrack, is a clappy number layered with piano melodies and some electric strings. On the song, the singer puts on the emotional tap while lamenting on the loss of her relationship (to another woman). Before the split, they travelled on the freedom train of sorts making a pact not to let it ruin what they had. Turns out, she stuck to her end of the deal, and well, he didn’t, leaving the singer absolutely heart broken. ‘Freedom Ride’ is a very solid track and her vocals have really picked up over the years. Trey Songz announces release date for ‘Chapter V’ lead single…

Trey Songz brought out his good pal Kelly Rowland for his Anticipation II tour in Atlanta this week. They performed Rowland’s Grammy-nominated hit single ‘Motivation’.
Cheeky Kelly copped a feel of Trey’s package during their little stage liaison. Following his show, the crooner did a Backstage Lounge interview where he talked about that very Atlanta gig. A gig which also saw him bring out Keri Hilson. Proceed for footage and exclusive deets about his new album and its anticipated lead single.
Now that the tour is wrapped up, Trey is almost ready to release his new album ‘Chapter V’ (and says he’s going back into the studio tomorrow, as well as the first week of April to put in the finishing touches). Trey also revealed some deets about the new album such as song titles, collaborations and even confirmed a release date for the album’s lead single!
There’s no info on what song he’ll release but confirms the album’s lead single will be out on March 26th. Some of the song titles confirmed for ‘Chapter V’ include the T.I. assisted ’2 Reasons’, ‘Heart Attack’ and ‘Ladies Gone Wild’.

Keri Hilson has been rather quiet lately. Tis a shame that. As I find her Beyonce-shading antics rather entertaining. But anyway, she recently spoke to The BoomBox about the follow-up to 2010?s ‘No Boys Allowed’.
Keri has been in the studio recording the new album, which is slated to drop later this year. Alongside preparing to release new music, the 29-year-old has also been tapped to star in a new Vin Diesel movie. Check out what she had to say about the concepts adopted for her new album below.
“I’m working on a new sound. I just love to challenge myself. My first two albums to me were incredible. They were a moment in time. ‘In A Perfect World’ was very emotional and tapped into how I was feeling at the time. And my last album, ‘No Boys Allowed,’ that’s how I was feeling at the time as well [laughs]. I was being very territorial, very instructional on how to become a man and what we deserved and demanded as women. The new music has kind of both sides: very emotional, but I’ve also gone through some hurt in the past couple of years. I’ll be explaining some things.” Source.
Hurt? Emotional? Adele sure has started something! I recall Jessie J also saying something similar about her upcoming new album as well. I’m all for emotional songs but I need to get my dance on too!

Juicy magazine has the juice. When they asked Keri Hilson to hold up their magazine, she blatantly said “no”. Why’s that eh?
Hilson, who made it clear in the past that she’s no Beyonce fan, looks down at the magazine, sees Beyonce on the cover and then refuses. Funny that, because this was about supporting the publication, not co-signing Beyonce. If that were her little brother Chris Brown, the response would have been different. At the time of reporting, Hilson’s latest album ‘No Boys Allowed’ has sold 272K copies in the US since its release on December 21st 2010.

During a recent concert in Paris, Keri Hilson found herself in a very uncomfortable situation. A crazed fan could not maintain his feelings for the blonde haired beauty when he ran up on stage to perform a random act of PDA. At the 2:17 mark, the 28-year-old (who toured Europe earlier this month) is seen touching the hands of audience members when a man unexpectedly runs onto the stage, grabs the singer and gives her a hug. Security ran on set to fight the man off the terrified songstress but there was a struggle and Keri got punched by her own security (accidental). The fan just doesn’t want to let her go OR at least tries to keep her in his grasp for as long as possible.
A fat lot of good that security was! She needs to hire a better team if the fan was able to get THAT close. Her feet left the ground. This would never have happened to Beyonce. Check out all the action after the jump!

Keri Hilson really sold her sexuality on a plate for her latest LP ‘No Boys Allowed’. So, it will be interesting to see what tricks she has up her sleeve for her upcoming third studio album. The singer dropped by 106&Park last night where she was honoured with the 106&Park ‘Get Schooled’ award. Her appearance saw her talk a bit about her new album which she started recording right after her UK tour (attended by Yours Truly). So what did she have to say? “There’s some people in the world that aren’t going to like this album coming from me” she says.
Being cautious in not spilling too much beans, the blonde-haired beauty goes on to say that the album will be coming from an emotional place and that things she experienced on a personal level will come out in her new material. Keri Hilson performed her latest ‘No Boys Allowed’ single ‘Lose Control’ this week for AOL Sessions. It was a good performance. She sang live and sounded great doing so. It’s a good idea she’s still invested in promoting the record. Despite the 28-year-old not making a start with recording her third studio album, she says it will be “a little more emotional” in terms of content.
Although I really enjoyed ‘No Boys Allowed’, I’m not really fussed about a new Keri album. What happened to the days an artist would work their album for as long as possible and not allow it to go to waste? There are still some great single choices on ‘No Boys Allowed’ and ‘Toy Soldier’ is clearly one of them. Peep the performance below.

Sh*t, she’s only been gone for three days, and yet Amy Winehouse came back from the dead last night to party with Keri Hilson, or that is what she’d have us believe. Anyway, I’m sure Hilson didn’t intentionally mean any harm by it, but a chick has yet to be laid to rest. This could have been saved until the shock and mourning wasn’t so fresh.

Keri Hilson took to the stage on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ last night while sashaying up and down to her Nelly-assisted new single ‘Lose Control’. The 28-year-old lip synced her way through the entire performance, which begs the question why? For the blonde haired vixen was not doing anything acrobatic to warrant her lack of live vocals.

Keri Hilson was in London this week and performed at SB.TV’s launch party which took place at the Nandos rave. She performed ‘Knock You Down’ and ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ which is her new single for the UK. The ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ singer is prepping to tour the UK before the end of the year: “There’s a lot of love for me in the UK. So I realized I had to get back to you guys after promoting all around the world,” she explained to the UK’s Daily Star.

Lady Gaga and Keri Hilson both took to the stage in Germany tonight to perform at the Next Top Model Finale. Hilson performed latest Euro single ‘Pretty Girl Rock’, while Lady Gaga performed ‘The Edge of Glory’ and ‘Born This Way’.
Keri may not have snatched Gaga’s blue wig, but despite Gaga stealing her thunder, it was Hilson who had the most cohesive song of the night. “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful!” Too right missus. All hails to vanity!

Cher Lloyd snapped the hell out of her neck during her X Factor audition last year. The 17-year old performed Keri Hilson’s version of the Soulja Boy track, ‘Turn My Swag On’ which created quite an online frenzy. Hilson reveals to MTV News that she is anticipated to hear Lloyd’s new material and hopes to pen a song for her in the near future:
“I attribute the fact that ‘Turn My Swag On’, my version, charted here in the UK and other places in Europe actually because of the X Factor performance of my song. She was like a sixteen year old white girl, you know I was really, really, really flabbergasted over the fact that that was the song she chose to audition with. Great moment for her and for me as well. I’m very excited to hear her music. I really can’t imagine what her music would sound like. I would actually love to write for her though. I’ve got some ideas in my own head” she says.
Some people think that the swag shines out of Cher Lloyd’s bum, but all I see is a chav trying to imitate swag. Put her on the same track as Fergie or Ms Dynamite and poor chick would be lost. Lloyd is gearing up to release her new single appropriately titled ‘Swagger Jacker’ in the coming weeks.

Being hot and sexy is an attribute Keri Hilson makes the most of when carving out a successful solo career for herself. When she released her shockingly sexual music video for ‘The Way You Love Me’, she was accused of heavily sexing-up her image for page views and album sales. The 28-year-old did an interview with Soul Culture recently where she interestingly reveals that artists who allowed only their talent to do the talking only started selling sex later on in their careers when image became a factor. She name dropped three musical legends – Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston.
“Back then, I think there was a choice. You had people that didn’t, like Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston. You had Mariah Carey, who eventually went there, but wasn’t sexual when she first started. These days there doesn’t seem to be such a broad stroke of types of artist. You’re either folk or soul, or else you’re R&B or pop – and then it’s almost like the sex has to be a part of it” Source.
I have followed the careers of these three women right from the early 90s and will agree that neither of them flaunted their sexuality to sell records. They allowed their unmatched vocal talent to do the talking. With the music industry becoming more image based, I can understand the pressures an artist has to go through to sustain some type of ‘appeal’. At the same time I would still say it is purely a choice.
Mariah only started to slut it up during her ‘Butterfly’ era as that was her first post-divorce album where she was going through a liberated phase in her career. I saw it as a big fat F*ck You to Tommy Mottola where the then 27-year-old released music which was more Hip Hop influenced. I also believe that the selling sex is mainly applied to those who do not have the vocal prowess or stage charisma to wow audiences. Adele has youth but does not have your typical pop star image. She sells buckets because she lets her talent speak for itself.

Memorial Day Weekend saw a barrage of R&B stars take to the stage at Miami’s Springfest ‘Best of the Best’ concert (May 28th). A shirtless Chris Brown was practically a walking bucket of sweat during his usual groin workout. He performed a racy lap-dance for a female fan and treated the audience to a heavy dancentric presentation.
Marsha Abrosius sang the house down. Trey Songz, Miguel and Lloyd smoothly crooned their way through the hearts of their female admirers, and a blonder Keri Hilson incorporated some choreography into her set.
