Snapshots: Jessie J records album two with Fazer & Tinchy Stryder…

Jessie J is currently hard at work on her second studio album! Over the weekend, the 24-year-old shared some snaps of herself recording new tracks in the booth. Some of them show her working with several pals from the UK music scene, including Fazer from N-Dubz and rapper Tinchy Stryder.

Jessie tweeted: “You have no idea how excited I am for you all to hear the new album”. The project, which features collaborations from the likes of Cee-Lo Green and Diane Warren, is due to be released later this year. The Londoner will also return as a coach for the second series of UK’s The Voice. Are you ready for that new album? It’s been a long time coming!

Newcomer Daley drops his debut single ‘Remember Me’ (feat Jessie J)…

Newcomer Daley officially released his Jessie J-assisted debut single ‘Remember Me’ last night. Check him out!

The smooth-voiced 23-year-old from Manchester performed the danceable soulful cut with Jessie J on Alan Carr recently:

Blue-eyed soul hits the UK, and he could very well be our answer to Robin Thicke. Nice performance from him too. The boy has soul.

And the video dropped about a month ago as well.

After releasing an EP earlier, his debut album is slated to drop in the first quarter of 2013 via Polydor Records. His single, which you can purchase here, is out now!

Watch: Jessie J performs at 2012 iTunes festival (full concert)…

I honestly do not know which of these three pop ladies played the most festivals this year. Was it Rihanna, Rita Ora or Jessie J? Whoever it was, Jessie J added another one to her resume this week. On Friday, she performed a live set at the iTunes festival, working the stage in a sheer maxi skirt and a sparkly crop top. This festival was an emotional one for the 24-year-old because she announced on Twitter that it would be the last time she would be performing some of these tracks. She is closing the book on this era and ready to start the next. At present, she is readying a second studio album. Check out her entire 90-minute set below.

WATCH:

The 24-year-old practically drowns herself in the music and delivers a buzz-worthy show packed with those killer big notes as expected. The singer’s emotional heart was brought on by this performance being her last one before she drops that new album. Are you anticipating it? Me? I want more edge like ‘Do It Like A Dude’, and less generic tack like ‘Laserlight’. I would like to hear her experiment with more acoustic rock sounds and some urban influences. Anything but tired ass dance-pop.

Watch: Rebecca Ferguson, Emeli Sandé & Jessie J perform at ‘Live In Hyde Park’…

It was a good day for concertgoers to attend a festival. September temperatures have been soaring and continue to do so. Rebecca Ferguson, Emeli Sandé and Jessie J all made light of the nice weather by taking to the stage at Radio 2?s Live In Hyde Park concert over the weekend. Rebecca performed her latest new single, ‘Backtrack’ for the first time. Emeli performed ‘Read All About It (Pt. III)’ and Jessie J performed her chart-topping single ‘Domino’. Check out their sets below.

PERFORMANCES:

British talent reigns: Rebecca looked stunning in a vintage ensemble, while showing off those smoky, yet soulful vocals. Emeli continues to impress with that big belting voice of hers, and Jessie J looked pretty spaced out as she rocks the stage in a silver outfit, but still delivered a nice performance.

Watch: Apparently, Jessie J is on a crusade to butcher Usher’s ‘Climax’…

Jessie J performed at the Fib 2012 festival in Spain last night. Jessie J clearly loves Usher‘s hit single ‘Climax’ and rightly so. In fact, the track has become a full fledged family member to her live sets now, but she does it no justice whatsoever. ‘Climax’ is one of those songs that was composed and arranged to be sang a certain way. And not the Jessie J way. Don’t get me wrong, the rest of Jessie J’s set was amazing and she clearly has talent but I’m simply not here for that one performance. Check out her entire set of professionally shot footage below.

Climax
Do It like A Dude
Who’s Laughing Now
Rainbow
Nobody’s Perfect
Stand Up
Never Too Much + Abracadabra

Watch: Jessie J makes dog’s dinner out of Usher’s ‘Climax’ at Wireless festival…

Jessie J‘s set at the Wireless festival in London was outstanding until…

…she went and covered Usher‘s hit single ‘Climax’. Let’s just say, if you can’t mimic the vulnerable falsetto, simplicity and emotional delivery that a song is composed of, LEAVE IT THE F*CK ALONE. Jessie sang the song in her usual vibrato-laced arrangement, opting to skip several keys and ditching the more commanding parts of the track’s falsetto. Parts that make the song the very gem that it is.

Clearly, ‘Climax’ was a terrible mismatch for Jessie, making it no more than a karaoke-baked rendition. Check it out below. Or maybe not…

Watch: Jessie J performs at ‘T in the Park’ (full set)…

No cancellations this time.

Jessie J‘s “heartbeats” braved the mud and rain to watch her colourful set at ‘T in the Park’ this weekend. Remember when Jessie was due to play her first T in the Park last year? She was forced to pull out because of a pesky leg injury. But now she’s all mended, and the party was popping! Several popular artists have names for their fans which are cute. We have Mariah‘s “Lambs”, Chris Brown‘s “Team Breezy”, Rihanna‘s “Navy”, Gaga‘s “Little Monsters”, and Bieber‘s “Beliebers”.

But Heartbeats? Ugh. That really takes the biscuit. “Care Bears” will be next. I can just sense it. By the way, Jessie J needs some new material because I can literally predict her setlist for every festival. Watch Jessie J’s vocally-appeasing set below.

Watch: Jessie J performs at Radio 1?s Hackney Weekend (full set)…

BBC Radio 1?s Hackney Weekend saw Jessie J hit up the stage in her usual eccentric stage garb last night. The singer performed her hit songs in stripey monochrome pants, orange tank top, and her favourite Jeffrey Campbell lita stud heels (okay, I’m convinced she’s being paid to endorse them)!

Jessie J confirmed to Reggie Yates that her Mystic Meg wig was back in action because her real hair underneath was a mess due to her demanding travelling schedule. The performances were standard fare from Jessie J. Concertgoers were treated to further excessive vocal theatrics, and more (annoying) stuttering of words.

Setlist

1. Do It Like A Dude
2. Who’s Laughing Now
3. Rainbow
4. Nobody’s Perfect
5. Never Too Much / Abracadabra
6. Price Tag
7. Laserlight
8. Domino

Watch: Jessie J’s set at 2012 Capital FM Summertime Ball…

At last years Summertime ball, Jessie J was crippled and in pain. Apparently, she had to sit down for the remainder of her performance. Cut to a year later, and Jessie is happily bopping on her feet to the sounds of her hit singles ‘Do It Like A Dude’, ‘Price Tag’, ‘Who You Are’, ‘LaserLight’ and ‘Domino’. Must feel nice not to no longer have to encounter any more of those restrictions.

Watch: JLS, Jessie J, Cheryl Cole & more perform at Diamond Jubilee concert…

You don’t get invited to perform for the Queen if you’re on your way out. And, among some of the other young acts, this is one of many historic moments JLS can brag about to their grand kids in many decades to come. The quartet entertained crowds last night outside Buckingham Palace (at the Diamond Jubilee concert) with their #1 smashes ‘Everybody In Love’ and ‘She Makes Me Wanna’. More coverage from last night’s concert celebrating the Queen’s 60-year reign are enclosed below.

A very regal affair boys, and they sang and danced live so kudos to them. Meanwhile, a tone deaf Cheryl Cole collaborated with Gary Barlow and could not even sing despite being stuck in one spot. As expected, horrible vocals. Jessie J sounded great on ‘Domino’ but it was the typical performance from her. I think Kylie Minogue had one of the best performances and that was amped up even more with dance troupe Flawless. And then you had a tonne of legends including Elton John, Grace Jones, Paul McCartney, Cliff Richard and Stevie Wonder.

You will notice ALL the young acts performed first, then you had the middle aged musicians (Kylie, Robbie Williams, etc), and as the concert progressed further, all the older acts, the legends, got final billing. Overall, it was a good concert. A gallery of photos and more performances can be checked out here.

Jessie J announces UK arena tour…

Jessie J has been making quite the negative headline lately. However, the only headlining she aspires to achieve this time is when she embarks on her first ever UK arena tour, which kicks off in early 2013.

Jessie has been in headlines due to reportedly pissing off BBC bosses for slagging off The Voice and its production values so candidly on The Graham Norton Show recently. All I will say is this. I respect Jessie. She’s brutally honest but you just don’t publicly criticise your area of employment. In the real world, that is actually a sackable offence. Maybe she WANTS to be sacked because if she wanted to keep her job, she would have chosen to bite her tongue, and not foam at the mouth. There has also been growing uncertainty as to whether or not she’ll return for a second season, due to her reported diva antics. Jessie has also been working hard on a brand new album, which is expected to drop later this year or early next. The tour starts February 26th at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena and ends March 18th at Dublin’s O2 Arena. Dates for the 14-city trek are enclosed below. Will you be there?

February 26th – Nottingham at Capital FM Arena
February 27th – Brighton Centre
March 1st – Birmingham LG Arena
March 2nd – Manchester Arena
March 3rd – Sheffield Motorpoint Arena
March 5th – Liverpool Echo Arena
March 6th – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
March 7th – Bournemouth International Centre
March 9th – London O2 Arena
March 12th – Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
March 14th – Glasgow SECC
March 15th – Aberdeen AECC
March 17th – Belfast Odyssey Arena

Watch: Jessie J performs ‘Laserlight’ on ‘Graham Norton’…

Jessie J took to the stage on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ to perform her latest single, ‘Laserlight’, which was taped this week but broadcast last night.

As generic as the song is, Jessie was showing viewers that she is nothing short of pure talent. Vocals like pow, and an intriguing sense of style! But massive side eye at those gold leggings. The performance comes after Jessie made history last month in the UK with ‘Laserlight’.

She became the first UK female to have six top 10 hits from one album. The cut is lifted from the Platinum Edition of Jessie J’s debut album ‘Who You Are’. And she is also working on the follow-up.

Snapshot: Jessie J gets stylish on the cover of ‘Company’…

Jessie J took to her twitter account to share her June 2012 cover of Company magazine with her legion of followers today.

The Voice UK judge shows off her stylistic taste by rocking a pair of purple Jeffery Campbell Litas. She sure loves those JC booties because she is always in them! She even performed in a creamy pair during a recent taping on The Graham Norton show. Cross promotion perhaps?

Anyway, the singer talks about her progression as a coach on the UK’s popular talent show and much more. Tune into Graham Norton tonight from 10:35pm on BBC1 where Jessie will be chatting to Graham and performing her new single ‘Laserlight’.

Jessie J makes chart history with ‘Laserlight’, but it comes at a cost…

Jessie J makes chart history with latest single ‘Laserlight’ as she becomes the first UK female to score her sixth Top Ten hit from one album.

Jessie J is now on par with her American pop peer Lady Gaga whose debut album ‘Fame’ also achieved six hits in the UK’s Top 10 chart. Laserlight, Jessie J’s latest single featuring David Guetta, is lifted from the singer’s repackaged edition of her latest album ‘Who You Are’. On a global scale, the pop diva has sold 11 million singles and over 2.5 million copies of her album.

With the massive popularity of the BBC’s new flagship talent show ‘The Voice’, (which she serves as a coach), Jessie J has been enjoying quite the boost. Jessie is talented and she deserves all the success but I feel her artististic creativity had to suffer in her attempt to keep radio (as well as young consumers) on her side.

Laserlight is just a sh*ttier version of ‘Titanium’ and she can do so much better musically. If she’s not singing over rejected Katy Perry songs, she’s singing over recycled Guetta beats. The good thing about ‘Do It Like A Dude’ was its freshness, originality and its raw grit. Now it seems she’s doing music that will get her the the spins and high chart positions. It’s clearly working but I just hope she puts out better songs in the future.

Snapshots: Jessie J poses it up for ‘Glamour’ & ‘ELLE’…

Jessie J unveils two new photoshoots for the glossy’s. The first set was shot for Glamour, and the second set was shot for Elle.

She keeps it fresh and colourful while modelling Spring’s bold hair and make-up trends. The UK’s finest has made it no secret that she’s proud of her bisexuality, and stresses that she will never use it as a marketing tool. “I’ve never tried to make [my sexuality] something that’s going to put me in newspapers or magazines. I’m never, ever going to let it be something that sells my music.” she says defiantly.

Good for her. You can check out more excerpts here. The rest of the spread, as well as the Elle shoot can be viewed after the jump.

ELLE PHOTOSHOOT:

Nice.

Watch: Jessie J performs ‘Dominio’ on ‘The Voice’ (US)…

Jessie J‘s latest single ‘Domino’ may have peaked in the States but that did not deter the colourful songstress from performing the track on ‘The Voice (US)’ last night.

Jessie J, who serves as a coach on the UK version, delivered some kick-ass vocals while paying an imagery tribute to Xena the Warrior Princess. And was then joined on stage by Christina Aguilera‘s team, who have all been competing for a lucrative record deal. ‘Domino’ is lifted from Jessie J’s debut album, ‘Who You Are’, which is currently in stores now.

Check out the performance below.

Video Premiere: Jessie J feat. David Guetta – ‘Laserlight’…

The video for Jessie J’s ‘Laserlight’ featuring David Guetta leaked ahead of schedule today.

The video, lifted from her triple-platinum selling ‘Who You Are’, was not due to premiere until tomorrow but she told her fans to go for it. Jessie J sure knows how to milk an album. But I don’t like the song and it’s evident that Guetta recycled it from his back catalogue (‘Titanium’ to be more precise).

Jessie looks great in the video but she could have done a bit more than go to a party and dodge some lasers. Although standard-fare at best, this was a very predictable visual. I am ready for the next chapter from Jessie J. It’s time for a new album.

Check out the video below.

Sneak Peek: Jessie J – ‘Laserlight’ music video…

A sneak peak look at Jessie J’s new single and upcoming new video for ‘Laserlight’ has now been released.

The track features the world’s #1 DJ, David Guetta, and is lifted from her triple-platinum selling album, ‘Who You Are’. The Brit-pop siren, currently a coach on BBC1’s The Voice, is looking to officially release the single in the UK on May 13th, 2012. The music video will premiere in its entirety this coming Tuesday (April 10th).

Does Jessie J have another smash on her hands?

Watch: Jessie J covers Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ on Radio 1…

Rihanna‘s monster smash ‘We Found Love’ is so huge now that it has yielded several different versions from several different artists. Jessie J visited Radio 1 earlier this morning, where she performed her own take on the mega hit. The singer was the guest star in Fearne Cotton‘s Live Lounge, which served as a nice lead-up to the Brit Awards next week where she will face off against Adele for the majority of the awards she is nominated for. Check out J’s take on ‘We Found Love’ below!

Pleasurable!

This acoustic rendition was glossed over with J’s usual mix of vocal acrobatics and colourful rhythms. A signature style that fans have now become familiar with and yet, one that’s become very enjoyable.

The session also serves as the latest in a week of Brit-themed live lounges that have also included Emeli Sande and Ed Sheeran.

Are you ready for Brit Awards mania?

Performance: Jessie J performs ‘Domino’ on ‘Jonathan Ross’…

The promo wheel for Jesse J‘s new single ‘Domino’ continues. J stopped by ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ to perform a live set in front of a studio audience last night. The track has so far enjoyed a high stint at the top of the UK charts and J is certainly milking the song for all its worth. J’s hair looks nice when she’s not rocking her artificial Mystic Meg wig and her butt looked nice and pert in those demin hot pants. She looked great!

I still don’t care about the song that much but she always brings the song to life with her colourful vocal techniques and vice versa. I have to add, that ballsy last note towards the end was everything. The track will be released to digital retailers in the UK on February 27th, 2012. Watch the performance below!
