REPORT: The Black Eyed Peas announce New Album ‘The Beginning’…

The Black Eyed Peas have announced that they’ll release their sixth studio album ‘The Beginning’ at the very end of 2010.

There’s nothing like enjoying the massive sales surge that the Christmas period will bring them. But in their defence, they don’t need to release that time of the year because they are naturally huge album sellers regardless. Plus, at least this news will reassure worried fans that Fergie is NOT leaving the group.
.
Yesterday morning, the band took to the stage on Good Morning America where they performed all of their latest hit records including ‘Boom Boom Pow’, ‘Rock Your Body’ and ‘I Gotta Feeling’. Check out all of the performances after the jump. Continue reading →

The biggest names in R&B music put on their most elegant of dresses and sharpest tuxedos to attend the biggest pre-Grammy party of all – the one hosted by Clive Davis.
.
The bash was a ‘Salute To Icons Honoring Doug Morris‘ which was held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 30th in Beverly Hills. In the correct row order, Rihanna, Keri Hilson, Ciara, Mya, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Fergie, Jennifer Hudson and Usher were in attendance.
.
Of course there were lots more but these are the ones I care about. Ne-yo and his new girlfriend Jessica White also attended so you can check out those pics after the jump, alongside many many more (alternative angles, etc).

Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie and Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger appear on two different covers of ‘Cosmopolitan’. Fergie is featured on South America’s January edition, whilst Nicole is featured on the Spanish cover of their February edition. Nicole addresses her split with Lewis Hamilton as she strives to concentrate on her career. Meanwhile, Fergie describes herself by narrating the belief’s of a religion. Both covers are stunning but in Fergie’s case, the power of photoshop is a wonderful thing.

Fergie: ‘I won’t wet myself on stage again’…

Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Stacy Ferguson has finally admitted that her infamous “wet crotch” was in fact pee and not the sweat she was trying to pass it off as originally. The singer who goes by the stage name ‘Fergie’ says it was “the most embarrassing incident in her life” when she took to the stage at San Diego’s Street Scene festival in 2005…

According to Contact Music and Showbiz Spy, Fergie said: “We had to rush onstage before I had the chance to go to the restroom. It was a very embarrassing night for me” also stating she had learnt her lesson: “That won’t happen again. I make a point now of visiting the bathroom at least once before I go on stage”.
.
Not that she was fooling anyone when she tried to pass it off as sweat. Realistically speaking, any woman who sweats like that profusely down south has serious medical problems. It was gross back then but since its aftermath, it’s quite laughable.
.
Oh, and if you’re wanting another solo album from Fergie Ferg, you could be in for a very long wait. Fergie says that after her tour comes to an end with the Black Eyed Peas, she is going to try for a baby with husband Josh Duhamel.

American Music Awards 2009: Performances & Review…

Janet Jackson performed a medley of her biggest hits at last night’s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Some of those numbers included ‘Control’, ‘Miss You Much’, ‘What Have You Done for Me Lately’, ‘If’, ‘Together Again’ and new single ‘Make Me’ from her recently-released ‘Number Ones’ compilation. Janet opened the show and nailed it. She was modestly dressed in a buckskin outfit and brown suede boots and modelled some of those enchanting dance moves we’ve so grown to admire over the last 20-plus years:

Janet performed on a night when her late brother Michael was nominated for five awards, including Artist of the Year. It looked like Micheal’s spirit was living inside of Janet throughout that 8 minutes. You just know that Together Again was yet another tribute to him. Michael won in the Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B and Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock categories among his four wins for the night.
.
The rest of the night was very interesting which saw Jennifer Lopez land on that very acclaimed butt of hers. She was performing her new single ‘Louboutins‘ when the slip-up took place. However, she was back on her feet in no time to complete a rock-solid performance.
.
Whitney Houston was honoured with an International Artist of the Year Award after taking to the stage to deliver an extremely emotional performance of ‘I Didn’t Know My Own Strength’. She recieved a standing ovation in the process. I am really happy that Whitney’s life is back in check. Sadly, some stars never make it back from hitting rock bottom.
.
Other performances that I enjoyed included Shakira’s ‘Give It Up’, Mary J. Blige’s ‘I Am’, Alicia’s ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Speechless’ (she performed ‘Bad Romance’) as well. Rihanna’s performance of ‘Wait Your Turn’ and ‘Hard’ was typical Rihanna (uninspiring) but her stage outfit never fails to dazzle. Black Eyed Peas also took to the stage to perform ‘Meet Me Halfway’ and ‘Boom Boom Pow’. All of these performances can be watched after the jump. Continue reading →
