Model with a mic Cassie is featured in the new April issue of British women’s fashion trends magazine ASOS. You’re probably thinking, another photoshoot and no music?
Many of her fans are wondering what is going on with her career. And regardless of all the talk, nothing much has escalated. She doesn’t seem to care that much which is a shame as she had potential. She’s so sprung on Diddy‘s tail that it doesn’t even matter anymore. She just announced that she’s going to unveil the release date for her ‘RockaBye Baby’ mixtape in less than a week! We’ll believe it when we see it.

Bad Boy princess Cassie teams up with female rappers Trina and LoLa Monroe on ‘All Gold, All Girls’. The swaggerific anthem serves as a remix to Trinidad James’ ‘All Gold Everything’, which will appear on Cassie’s upcoming mixtape ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’.
This sounds very Ciara-ish, but it’s not really effective. The song doesn’t excite me and she’s barely singing on it. I liked LoLa Monroe’s part the best but the song is just ‘there’ for me. This will probably be added to the many irrelevant Cassie joints waiting to gather dust.

Before dropping her ‘RockaByeBaby’ mixtape, Cassie releases a new track called ‘End Of The Line.’ The track comes with an accompanying visual, which gives fans something new before the year wraps up.
The visual follows her feature on Nicki Minaj’s single ‘The Boys’, and precedes both her album and mixtape. In the December issue of The Source magazine, she describes her long-awaited second album as “sampling everything from trap beats to ’90s records.” She adds: “I’ve been working on my mixtape and album simultaneously for the past year. The mixtape is called RockaByeBaby. I feel that it’s a level of music that I haven’t been able to explore as an artist yet. It’s a tougher side of my personality.”
She’s recorded over 100 songs to complete her best work to date, and says she feels the time is now right. “I feel confident now that it sounds its best and that people will really appreciate it. I am still currently working on my album, which is yet to be titled. It marries the world of the mixtape with pop radio music. I’m very proud of both projects and how my sound has evolved.” Source.

It feels like I’ve been reading the same interview for the past three years now. Stop talking. Start releasing. As for the video, it was shot in the desert and she went for the minimalist approach, posing it up and enjoying scarce surroundings. It was like watching a music video and a photoshoot combined. Actually, I wouldn’t even be surprised if this was an actual photoshoot. It’s what she’s good at.

Cassie‘s vocals may be thinner than tracing paper, but she always had a pleasant tone, as well as a fantastic ear for smoking hot bangers that you could easily work your way into a sweat. If you’re a Cassie nut however, this could be your lucky day.
Super Cassie fan Maru, has composed a lengthy three CD trilogy of all of Cassie’s unreleased tracks. The first disc is catered to urban, the second one is laced with darker electronic beats and the third one is pure pop. We can assume these are songs lifted from various mixtapes and rejected cuts from her serially delayed second album, which still doesn’t have a release date four years later.
Consider this your Christmas present for the ipod. Because we won’t be seeing a new album from her next year or the year after that. She’s too busy globe trotting and throwing Cîroc-fueled parties with her boyfriend (and rumoured fiance) Diddy. She will probably get herself knocked up before we see the release of a new album, so this is as good as it gets.

Flamboyant rapper Nicki Minaj teams up with Cassie for her colourful new music video ‘The Boys’. In the flashy, murder-themed music video, Diddy‘s other half flashes the cash while rocking a blue suit and a yellow mohawk. In other scenes (directed by Collin Tilley), they capture the male gaze, flaunting their ample assets in skimpy bikini’s and one piece ensembles.
Sadly, a little Diddy in the oven stands a higher chance at making its way into the world than this new album. I can see it now. ‘The Boys’ serves as the lead single from Minaj’s new album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up’, which hits stores on November 19th. Cassie on the other hand, has been trying to release a new album since forever and finally gets to enjoy a little bit of momentum. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes.

Girls just wanna have fun. Cassie and Nicki Minaj bring a bit of minimal shock value on the set of their forthcoming music video ‘The Boys’. Minaj seems to be sticking to her words about her “plotting on how she can take Cassie away from Diddy“. And with those two giving us some saucy girl on girl action, the boys will love this I’m sure…
Not as explicit as you’d imagine. Minaj’s flamboyant head decoration is not quite low enough but the illusion works. And this will give Cassie a bit of momentum for her own album (in the next six years or so). ‘The Boys’ is lifted from the rapper’s new LP ‘The Re-Up’, slated for a November 19th release.

Badboy songstress Cassie is featured in the October issue of ‘GQ’ magazine. In these sizzling snaps by Christian Anwander, the singer flaunts that oiled, super toned body ready for a workout! These days, Cassie seems to spend more time on Twitter professing her undying love for Diddy than exercising all her focus into a music career that stalled a semi-decade ago. It is no wonder she has such a reserved attitude about the lack of albums she’s put out since her debut six years ago. And when compared to a younger artist like Rihanna, who has been out just as long as Cassie, with six, almost seven albums under her belt, the 26-year-old shrugs it off and says she’s satisfied with being an underground artist. Upon addressing the six years since the release of her self-titled debut, Cassie tells the mag: “It’s been too long, I know, but I got to start over and over again. It would be awesome to stay popular, but if I was only an underground artist, I would be okay with that.” Source.

Nicki Minaj debuts her new single ‘The Boys’ today. Apparently, it is a redone and scrapped Cassie single (previously titled ‘Money On Love’). Cassie is now featured on the track as opposed to being the main hostess of it. Minaj originally was suppose to be the guest feature but it seems they’ve swapped positions. Minaj will be rereleasing ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ titled ‘The Re-up’ in November, and ‘The Boys’ serves as the lead single. Check it out below.
LISTEN:
Minaj drops several verses over an electro-infused beat consisting of a very infectious melody. A heavily auto-tuned Cassie chants over some heavy drums about “the boys always spending all their money on love”. This one certainly pays ode to Minaj’s hip-hop side, but there is definitely some crossover appeal in there as well. Play, share and enjoy!

Cassie drops the finalised version of her Rico Love-produced new single ‘Balcony’, featuring rapper Young Jeezy. The smooth and sensual cut is lifted from the ‘Syndicate R&B 12’ mixtape and will also appear on Cassie’s new mixtape ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’ as well. An unmastered version leaked in May and I stated that the production is very much Drake‘s territory because it has Noah ’40? influences drenched all over it.
‘Balcony’ really is a nice cut. It’s just too bad that this is getting wasted on a poxy mixtape. The 25-year-old is dating Diddy and has been for a good number of years now and he still cannot bag Cassie a hit. I’ve pretty much given up on the album because next Christmas will arrive and she will be singing the same tune, the same one since ’98 (the year her album was originally suppose to drop).
The mixtape should be pretty good though, and I’m basing that solely on Cassie being consistent with her beats, so, at least we have THAT to look forward to. As for the album, when we see it, we see it.

Cassie‘s serially delayed new album may not drop until (perhaps) next year but her new mixtape ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’ will see a release this fall. Musically, she has struggled to set her mark on the scene but the magazine circuit has never been a shortcoming. Cassie poses it up for Bwatt magazine’s second issue and as expected, she looks absolutely fierce!
The stunner reveals to the mag that her album will be “super, fresh and surprising”. When speaking about the LP’s musical direction, she says it is finally where she wants it to be after years of recording. A surprising tidbit is that she is broody and ready to have kids. “I can’t wait to be a mom” she tells the magazine excitedly. Hope Diddy gets the memo then!

Cassie‘s newly debuted track ‘IV’ was unveiled today. The urban-laced cut appeared online after CLAM magazine uploaded some behind the scenes footage of the model-singer’s photoshoot. Not much else is known about the never-heard-before cut but I would love to know who produced it. ‘IV’ is something fierce! The downtempo cut features staccato arrangements and a heavy baseline, while her thin vocals glide effortlessly over the beat. A poisoned Cassie sings about breaking away from a tainted relationship.

Model with a mic ambassador Cassie hosted her ‘King of Hearts’ party at the LAVO nightclub in Las Vegas last night. The party was in promotion of her serially delayed sophomore album. The LP was originally slated for a September release, but has since been pushed back to accommodate her ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’ mixtape. Why the sombre facial expressions Cassie? At least you’ve still got your record deal. A deal more talented chicks couldn’t keep simply because they don’t get to enjoy the privileges that comes with sleeping with the head boss.

New album from Cassie this year? As unlikely as myself stanning for Khia.
Cassie slayed us all with her infectious dance-pop single ‘King of Hearts’, earlier this year. And for a moment it looked like her serially delayed sophomore album was actually coming out. After the undeserved flopping of ‘King’, Cassie cancelled a major gig at the Isle of MTV Malta Special last month. This pretty much set off alarm bells that the project was already in disarray. Now the 25-year-old is readying a new mixtape/EP called ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’, due by the end of the summer. In a personalised letter to fans (which she posted on twitter), she confirms she’s been making hits with Ester Dean and Will.i.am on the upcoming project. “It’s not pop, it’s not R&B, it’s Cassie. It’s why you fucked with me in the first place” she wrote. The album was previously set for September, but 2013 is looking like the case now (if that).
Cassie now joins a long list of R&B flops to ditch their albums to concentrate on releasing a mixtape/EP. Ameriie delayed her new album ‘Cymatika’ to work on her mixtape/EP ‘The Prelude’ and Teairra Mari also put her new album ‘Sex on The Radio’ to the backburner to release her latest mixtape ‘Unfinished Business’. Expect a mixtape announcement from Ciara, Ashanti and Christina Milian in the foreseeable future.

Render me speechless! Cassie looks absolutely smoking in this colourful new photoshoot for ‘Lovecat’ magazine. The vibrant photos were shot by Steven Baillie, for issue #5 of the fashion mag set to hit newsstands soon. Someone definitely put in overtime with the photoshop as they almost look like paintings, but it needs to be said that there are no false perceptions with chicks like Cassie. You just know that she looks exactly like she does in the shoots if you were ever to lay eyes on her for real. Ms Ventura is just naturally stunning.
It’s so easy to hate on chicks like Cassie. She has the fantastic body, the fantastic face. What else is there to say? Cassie is also preparing to release her sophomore new album before the end of the year. Thanks to Denise for sending these over.

Cassie is in no position whatsoever to be cancelling performances. That is why it comes as a surprise she has scrapped her impending gig at the Isle of MTV Malta Special next month. According to her reps, she won’t be performing at the show due to “scheduling conflicts”. What scheduling conflicts? Unless she means following boyfriend Diddy around at every glitzy red carpet and looking a million dollars while playing up the trophy girlfriend. It’s baffling that she practically graces more red carpets these days than an actual stage.
The model with a mic, has only performed new single ‘King of Hearts’ once on 106 & Park and any potential momentum that the song has had is now gone. This scrapped performance would have seen her perform in front of a 50,000 strong crowd, and giving her the platform to build up her confidence as a performer. Honestly, where are her priorities? Is she even taking her music career seriously? I hope she has something major lined up because this new album does not look like it will ever see the light of day. Again.

Cassie has just dropped a brand new music video for the R3hab remix of her latest single ‘King of Hearts’.
The Julien Bachelet-directed clip was shot in Paris during her trip to Paris Fashion Week where she promoted the record (and that was followed by a brief promo tour of London). This time, Cassie is not walking around with belts to cover her tits. Neither is she rocking scantily clad outfits that leave little to the imagination, so if any fellas ran in here with their little tubs of vaseline and are in here purely for that, be prepared for disappointment. She does rock some interesting looks though, just not anything super slutty.
Unlike the first visual which was dark and seductive, this one is more lighthearted and fun paying ode to raves and celebrating the enjoyment of having a good time (whether at a rave or in her own surroundings). Cassie’s long-awaited sophomore album is scheduled for a September release.

Cassie poses for this colourful, yet fiercesome new photoshoot which is featured in the latest issue of i-D magazine.
Cassie’s modelling career is clearly hotter than her music one, but at least she stays getting those gigs. It pays to be beautiful. The i-D photoshoot was taken by James White in London back in March when she did some UK promo for her latest single ‘King Of Hearts’. Unfortunately, the Beyonce-cosigning club banger is still failing to impact the charts despite it being of the hottest dance cuts to come out this year. Where is the justice? Cassie is also preparing for the September release of her sophomore album.
From the project, we’ve so far heard a snippet of her alleged next single ‘Money on Love’, which will feature woman of the moment Nicki Minaj, as well as the Young Jeezy-assisted slow jam ‘Balcony’. Nice shoot, but it’s not anything we haven’t seen before.

Super smooth, sensual and very intimate.
I like the mellowed calmness, and chilled back Aaliyah-esque vibe it has, and it sounds very much like Drake‘s territory as well. Actually, it would suit him way more than Jeezy’s rugged input as he does not pull off the minimalistic production all that well. Cassie on the other hand, rides it beautifully.
I recall Cassie saying this song would serve as a follow-up (as well as appear on her new album) but I don’t think that’s a very good idea. If an infectious, smash-worthy song like ‘King of Hearts’ is still struggling to pick up steam, this song has NO CHANCE in hell.

Cassie faces her fears by performing new single ‘King of Hearts’ on the very platform she pooed her pants on six years ago.
Cassie somewhat redeemed herself from that disastrous first performance. She was singing live over what appeared to be a loud backtrack and there was some two-step choreography in between. The dance break was a bit naff and she still looked mad uncomfortable on stage but for what it was worth, she tried and half succeeded. In her own words, she still has a “Long Way 2 Go”.
Bad Boy‘s main chick must be doing something right as Beyonce officially endorsed the song on her official website. “I can’t stop listening to this song!” Beyonce wrote over the weekend. If that’s not major, I don’t know what is!
Cassie joins performance line-up at Isle of MTV festival…

Cassie‘s promo kicks off in summery style now that she has just been announced to perform at this year’s Isle of MTV concert in Malta on June 26th!
Cassie will support massive selling artists Nelly Furtado, Will.i.am and Flo Rida at the free outdoor music festival, which boasts a 50,000 strong crowd. “I’m excited to come to Malta and be a part of the Isle of MTV. Malta is beautiful and I hear nothing but great things about the festival, can’t wait” says Cassie. The 25-year-old has been in gruelling rehearsals with LaurieAnn Gibson, who will choreograph all of her upcoming performances. Cassie will perform her new single ‘King of Hearts’ for the first time next week Monday (April 23rd) on BET’s 106 & Park. Her forthcoming sophomore album is slated for a September release. Has the beautiful songbird finally grown herself a bag of confidence?
