Valentine’s Day brings us the premature release of Britney Spears and will.i.am’s remix video for ‘Scream & Shout’. Directed by Ben Mor once again, the star-studded visual features cameos from Diddy, Hit-Boy, Waka Flocka and Lil Wayne.
Britney certainly looked the part in her urban clobber but the most she could serve up was several poses, stiff hip swinging and constant tossing of ponytail. This was catered through a multiplicity of cheap video effects, alongside popping of bottles, exploding cars and scantily clad female dancers. In a nutshell, the video was just complete and utter trash and lacked creativity.

will.i.am drops the official remix to ‘Scream & Shout’, his collaborative single with Ms Britney Spears. The pair are joined by Diddy, Lil Wayne, Waka Flocka Flame and Hit-Boy, who also produced the remix and laced it with a brand new beat.
This remix is so damn ratchet and trash at the same time. Why are there so many people on one track? And Diddy is so 97 that it aint even funny. With the song being complete and utter garbage, it’s not like it could get any worse. I’m here for urban Britney but not this. Hit-Boy had better come correct with her new album because her legacy is being ruined and I truly do blame will.i.am.

Shortly before the Hit-Boy remix to Britney‘s ‘Scream & Shout’, surfaced online, the hip-hop producer shared some details about the singer’s new album. Speaking to MTV News, Hit-Boy confirms that the music he’s submitting will combine hip-hop and pop elements, resulting in a global sound.
Working with the pop princess is new ground for Hit-Boy. It will really challenge him as a producer and whether he can actually break away from the “hip-hop” mold. This marks the first time they’ve worked together so what transpires from their studio sessions will be very intriguing to say the least. The 31-year-old is also working with Elijah Blake and will.i.am on the upcoming project.

In news that we were already aware of, Britney Spears confirms that she won’t be returning to X Factor USA. The singer releases an official statement announcing her X Factor departure: “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”
I’m sure the “decision” wasn’t that difficult given the widespread speculation that such decision was made for her a while ago (we’ve all read the ‘sacking’ reports and seen the failed ratings). Now we can have fun reading Twitter bulletins about a desperate Simon trying to save his flailing show with yet another controversial signing. And as for the ‘miss performing’ bit, we WOULD be just as enthusiastic if her performances weren’t such a lethargic mess. I’ve seen my 68-year-old grandmother move with more life in her body. REALLY. But anyway, I’m definitely here for album number 8!
Elijah Blake slams rep for denying he is working on new Britney album…

Much to Elijah Blake‘s fury, he found himself in defense mode after the rep for Britney Spears previously denied he’d had any involvement in her upcoming new album. The denial made him look bad because it left fans wondering if he lied about those claims. However, Rihanna‘s songwriter clarified on Twitter that he IS in deed contributing to album #8.
“Reps commenting on album process without even being allowed in the session is always funny to me” he wrote. “Worked yes, experimented yes, but truthfully, you never know what’s on an album till it’s out”.
It has become standard practice for anyone to get shut down by her team for claiming they worked with her, especially if they did so without her consent. Evidently, Darkchild had to find that out the hard way. You learn to keep it zipped. On a positive note, at least they’re ‘experimenting’, so that could only mean they’re cooking up something special!

According to EW.com, Britney Spears is staying true to her word by “collaborating with some inspiring new producers.” They received word from Britney’s rep that the album is still in its early planning stages.
The rep says Britney “hasn’t worked with Elijah Blake,” despite the rumours, but name dropped producer Hit-Boy and the not so fresh Will.i.am. The latter produced ‘Big Fat Bass’ on her last album ‘Femme Fatale’, but Hit-Boy is brand new territory for her. I’m not here for another Will.i.am auto-tuned collab because his songs absolutely stink.
Hit-Boy on the other hand? Absolutely. I’m definitely here for that as it means she’ll be revisiting the urban sounds that plagued previous albums and it will give it some edge.
For those that don’t know, Hit-Boy produced Kanye West and Jay-Z’s ‘N*ggas in Paris’ and Rihanna‘s ‘Watch N Learn’. He is also said to be working on the new Beyonce album as well. So he’s definitely the top urban producer right now.

We’ve known about it for weeks, prior to several songwriters spilling the beans (Elijah Blake, Ina Wrolsden). However, the icing was not complete until hearing it from the horses mouth. Britney Spears has confirmed on Twitter that she is working on her eighth studio album. She wrote that she is “really focused on her music right now”, as well as expressing excitement at collaborating with “some new inspiring producers.” This admission further fuels speculation that she wont be back as a judge on The X Factor amid rumours of her impending sacking. Turns out she’ll be ditched because her ‘nuttier’ side did not come across (she was too boring) and her vocabulary (equivalent to a five-year-old) did not extend much outside of the cliched “amazing”. The big issue that might have sealed her fate is that she failed to bring in ratings and they’re smarting over the fact that they paid her an eye watering $16 million without seeing any results of their massive investment, LOL.
Technically she can’t be sacked because she was only contracted for just one season. The only thing that will likely happen is that they don’t ask her back plain and simple. She should have just did an LA Reid and announce early that she wouldn’t be returning because these ‘sacking’ reports make her look really bad and truly question the nature of her star power. Anyway, this new album will mark the last contractual one with her label RCA, and with mention that she’ll be exploring new sounds, it seems like this would be the one she makes a statement with.

Norwegian songwriter, Ina Wroldsen confirms she’s begun writing for Britney Spears next studio album! Her work is recognised on Brit’s last album ‘Femme Fatale’ when she contributed a bonus track called ‘He About To Lose Me.’ More deets below.
Wroldsen says Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins beckoned her to Los Angeles to craft more cuts. We know that Darkchild is working on the project because the 31-year-old was seen in the studio with him during an episode of The X Factor. And on top of that, Rihanna songwriter Elijah Blake also confirms he’s started on the project as well after tweeting that he thinks “her fans will be surprised by it.”
We hope so! Yours Truly has not fully enjoyed a Britney album since ‘Blackout’, and she did throw out hints earlier this year that we may get a 2.0. We shouldn’t get our hopes up too much as everything is in the very early stages but at least it’s something right?

Pop princess Britney Spears and Will.i.am premiere their ‘Scream & Shout’ music video on last night’s episode of The X Factor.’ Disclaimer: this tripe is four minutes of your life you’ll never get back…
Britney and the Black Eyed Peas frontman get a little groovy against a plain white backdrop and party it up in a monochrome club. The track was featured this past week on the Beats By Dre commercial for Best Buy. As a result of product placement, Beats By Dre gets a look in, as well as the new Bluetooth Portable Speaker Pill, which is also featured in the Ben Mor-directed clip.
Britney rocks black and gold while will.i.am is drenched in jewels. The club number is already number two on the iTunes Top Songs chart. The visual is below.

Britney looks amazing. This is actually the best she has looked in years. Her engagement, as well as The X Factor contributing to her new-found confidence has done some serious wonders. Now as for the song and video… terrible. It should be a penalised offense to release crap like this.

The long-awaited Will.i.am and Britney Spears duet, ‘Scream & Shout’ has finally leaked! But it won’t officially debut until Monday at noon on KIIS FM.
‘Scream & Shout’ serves as their second collaboration since ‘Big Fat Bass.’ Spears goes back to reusing her trademark ‘Gimme More’ phrase: ‘It’s Britney Bitch.’ She adopts a British accent for the fun, synthy club record but fans will be disappointed to discover she doesn’t have a real solo.
“When you hear this in the club, you’re gonna turn this shit up” she sings through a thick cluster of auto-tune. The track is of course a typical Will.I.Am beat, albeit, not a very good one.
Hopefully, the upcoming music video makes up for it. According to exaggerated reports, she “danced like crazy”. Hmmm, I’ll believe that when I actually see it.

Britney Spears will be delighted to know that her SoundScan record for the highest album sales in its debut week by any solo artist is officially safe! Taylor Swift sold 1.2 million copies of ‘Red’, just 100,000 units shy of Britney’s record of 1.3 million units sold in her opening week for ‘Oops!… I Did It Again.’
I doubt Swift is shedding any tears over it. After all, to be able to sell one million copies in your first week, especially in 2012, where sales have declined considerably, is still a remarkable achievement. Congrats to Taylor for her massive success. It could not have happened to a nicer artist.

Putting aside the uproar that was wig-gate, Britney Spears took her newly crisp bangs to ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ last night. And now eyebrows were raised because seemingly, her latest look was derived from X Factor USA co-judge Demi Lovato. If that is truly the case, she needs to continue swagger jacking her younger Disney peer because she looks great!
The beaming star visited Leno with head judge Simon Cowell where the pair promoted the live shows, which kicks off on Thursday November 1st. The chat was pretty lighthearted with the pair revealing some quirky facts about themselves. Although ratings have declined, the show has been renewed for a third season.

Britney Spears is featured on the December cover of Lucky magazine, but really, who cares what she has to say in it, when that horrible cheap thing on her head takes center stage? Given that her weave has been on point lately, the question we can ask is… why the hideous wig?
Sigh. But in music news, Danja hinted that he will be collaborating with her again on her next studio album. His admission comes on the very day of ‘Blackout’s five year anniversary, an epic pop album which he heavily produced on. We already know she is working with Darkchild. Get excited.

Pop sensation Britney Spears is no stranger when using several guises for her music visuals. So it comes as no surprise this is a route she’s adopted for her brand new commercial to promote her new fragrance, ‘Fantasy Twist’. Serving as her 11th perfume with Elizabeth Arden, the scent combines her two popular fragrances ‘Fantasy’ and ‘Midnight Fantasy’. The 50-second visual is enclosed below.
Britney uses a lot of hand motion while dressed up in four different guises at a hotel corridor and giving us ‘Womanizer’ teas in the process. The quote “We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are” pops up on screen. There has also been hype about a new Britney album in the works when a clip for the Judges Houses segment on X Factor USA showed the singer in the recording studio with Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins.
Brit’s bank balance continues to flood with the singer selling approximately one billion bottles of perfume since her first scent ‘Curious’ was released back in 2004, grossing an ass-kicking $1.5 billion! It’s Britney, biaaaatch!

Britney Spears met her shock when her former collaborator Don Phillip auditioned during the final leg of the San Francisco tryouts on last night’s episode of X Factor USA. Her former label-mate sang with Spears more than a decade ago on ‘I Will Still Love You’, which is lifted from her debut album ‘Baby One More Time’. A tearful Britney had to tell him the harsh truth that in today’s world he just doesn’t have what it takes to be a star. It’s funny how the tables turn because clearly Jive thought HE would be the star back in the day. Poor Britney tried to comfort Don as he broke down on stage but at least she was honest about his performance and didn’t give him a good critique solely based on his personal story. Britney Spears has been everywhere as late doing promotional duties for X Factor USA. With the season premiere airing tonight, the fun and games really began! The pop icon and Simon Cowell visited ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ to promote the series. A more entertaining portion was when Britney was taught Psy‘s jockey-esque dance move ‘Gangnam Style’. Britney previously expressed an interest in learning the dance. Therefore, Ellen made sure to book the K-pop star, who has become a huge viral sensation, amassing over 145 million views on YouTube. This is probably one tribute act Britney Spears won’t be cosigning any time soon. 33-year-old stripper and Britney impersonator Lorna Bliss made a complete tomfoolery of herself during an audition on tonight’s X Factor. She walked on stage in a barely there outfit made from a lime green bikini and body-stocking. She then gyrated on stage to Britney’s hit single, ‘Till The World Ends’ before jumping off the stage and crawling all over the judges table. Poor Louis Walsh got the worst of it as she cocked her leg open in his face, while Gary Barlow put on his Bolt batteries and darted across the room trying to make a desperate escape.
AUDITION:
Travesty. She looks like Britney too, but she is way too old to act like this. Britney would never actually do THAT on stage by the way. Obviously, this was done for shock value and publicity, and not because she wanted to be a singer. Sharp eyed viewers will recognise Lorna when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent last year, impersonating Ms Spears yet again. The things people will do for 15-minutes of fame.

Britney‘s hot new ‘Till The World Ends’ remix commercial for Hasbro’s Twister Dance game made its worldwide debut today on rockthespots.com. The commercial was directed by Ray Kay, who also directed the original music video too. There was more energy in Britney’s 10-second dance routine than there was in the entire three minute original. Hilarious.
COMMERCIAL:
At least it looked like she wanted to move instead of looking like some programmed robot. Twister Dance comes with five songs, including the ‘Till the World Ends’ Twister remix. The game is in stores now.

Not that fans hadn’t known this for months, but at least it’s official now. Britney Spears finally confirms what we’ve suspected for months! Her vocals will feature on will.i.am‘s next single, which, according to Pop Justice is called ‘Sexy Sexy’.
And in even more bizarre news, the Black Eyed Peas frontman will debut his latest single ‘Reach For The Stars’ on Mars later tonight at 7pm BST. Yes, the REAL planet Mars. will.i.am will blast out the song atop the rocky landscape through some speakers, while it beams back from Mars to Earth. It will be played at a special event held by Nasa in Pasadena, California. And just when I was thinking stranger things could never happen.
