REPORT: Will.i.am NOT supportive of New Michael Jackson Album…

Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am worked on Michael Jackson’s anniversary album for ‘Thriller’ in 2008. However, he no longer supports the release of further albums now that the iconic singer is no longer here, and says it’s “disrespectful”…

“I don’t think that should ever come out. That’s bad,” he said. “He was a perfectionist and he wouldn’t have wanted it that way. How you gonna release Michael Jackson when Michael Jackson ain’t here to bless it?”
.
“Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing? Why would you put a record out like that? Because he was a friend of mine, I just think that’s disrespectful,” he said. “What’s wrong with what he already contributed to the world?” Source.
.
His opposition is down to the fact that the late singer was very hands-on in all aspects of his musical productions, from the vocals, arrangements and instrumentation. I could not agree more with his statements. Finally, the voice of reason. It’s so easy to profit from a dead man these days especially one who is worth more dead than alive.

REPORT: The Black Eyed Peas announce New Album ‘The Beginning’…

The Black Eyed Peas have announced that they’ll release their sixth studio album ‘The Beginning’ at the very end of 2010.

There’s nothing like enjoying the massive sales surge that the Christmas period will bring them. But in their defence, they don’t need to release that time of the year because they are naturally huge album sellers regardless. Plus, at least this news will reassure worried fans that Fergie is NOT leaving the group.
.
Yesterday morning, the band took to the stage on Good Morning America where they performed all of their latest hit records including ‘Boom Boom Pow’, ‘Rock Your Body’ and ‘I Gotta Feeling’. Check out all of the performances after the jump. Continue reading →

Report: Rihanna, Alicia, Usher & Monica dominate R&B Best Sellers List…

Billboard have compiled a list of the top selling R&B/Hip-Hop albums, ranked by sales data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan for the week ending January 10th through the week ending July 4th. Who has reigned? Let’s find out!

Sade’s ‘Soldier of Love’ tops the chart having sold 1.2 million units. Usher comes in at #3 with latest album ‘Raymond v. Raymond’ having sold 898K. Fergie’s group The Black Eyed Peas come in at #4 with ‘The E.N.D’ after selling 853K. Alicia Keys comes in at #7 with ‘The Element of Freedom’ after selling 575K. Monica comes in at #9 with ‘Still Standing’ after selling 454K, and Rihanna’s ‘Rated R’ comes in at #10 with 433K sold.

It’s amazing that Rihanna has sold close to what Alicia has sold in half a year. After all, Rihanna is not deemed a massive album seller, whereas, Alicia Keys is, and they both dropped at the ending of 2009. Interesting!
