Lythgoe told Extra’s Terri Seymour at the finale of his other show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’: “Hello? These people don’t know Jennifer Lopez. She’s a wonderful woman. I’ve never seen her be a diva in her life!” Source.

He did not confirm if the singer was still on board to judge but he did say that it will only consist of three judges. I don’t think J.Lo is a diva at this point in her life because her career is not as hot as it use to be. Sometimes a fall from grace is what pushes somebody to become humble. I do believe she was the biggest diva out the pack when her music career was hot back in the day. She knew everybody wanted a piece of her, and as a result, could afford to get under people’s noses. Blowing away what may have been the best opportunity to ressurect your career is not the smartest of ideas especially when your movies and your music are no longer in demand like they were a decade ago. Every fallen star needs that extra push and apparently, this was J.Lo’s time to shine. On a positive note, at least contestants will no longer feel mocked at being told they cannot sing by someone who is also vocally challenged in the singing stakes. Once again, a very interesting twist to the never-ending American Idol saga. It’s not yet known who will step in to replace the 41-year-old mother of two but things just got even more fascinating. The shocking twists in the American Idol saga continues. The VERY reliable TMZ are reporting that American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has been fired. They say the only way she’d get her job back is if new judge Jennifer Lopez pulls out, which is VERY UNLIKELY to happen as the deal with J.Lo is believed to be FINALISED. DioGuardi will now be replaced by Steven Tyler. Peep the scoop below:

Oh wow, this is getting interesting! I really liked Kara as a judge. Her criticisms were very constructive and she knew her stuff when it came to vocal analysis, and so forth. I guess they wanted to return to their one female, two men format, and having two strong-headed females on the panel may have been a little too much for them to handle. LMAO!

Jennifer Lopez is set to officially REPLACE Ellen Degeneres as an American Idol judge. Last night, the comedienne announced she had quit her role after just one year on the show.

A massive opportunity like this MAY recharge her popularity, even though the show has gone to the dogs and lost its spark. The 41-year-old, who recently signed to Island Def Jam has put herself back into the recording studio to re-polish her upcoming new album ‘Love?’. A tentative release date has yet to be set.
