As much as I dislike Mathew Knowles, it also pains me to admit that without him, there’d be no such superstar as Beyonce today. I’ve always looked at him as a tamer version of Joe Jackson, one of those very shrewdy showbusiness type fathers who will collide hell and earth to push their children to the height of fame at whatever cost. He made sacrifices (resigned his job), treaded on peoples toes and pushed out certain others just to pave way for his daughter’s career. He has been her manager way before we even knew of an existence with Destiny’s Child.
However, new reports suggest that Beyonce is no longer on speaking terms with her manager father. It is bad enough that there have been rumours for years about his soliciting and disrespectful behaviour towards his marriage to Beyonce’s mother Tina. But the final straw for Beyonce came when the 60-year-old FATHERED new son Nixon with 38-year-old Alexsandra Wright, whilst he was still married to Tina. Earlier this year, a DNA test confirmed that little Nixon was in deed fathered by Knowles after an 18-month affair.
Beyonce has always been very close to her mother and is said to have been horrified about the public shame that Knowles inflicted on the rest of the family. Now the Ne
w York Post are claiming that executives at her label Columbia are very concerned about their dwindling relationship as they fear it could end up destroying her career. According to a music industry insider: “Beyoncé was horrified to find out her dad cheated on her mom. She always looked up to him, and she is very close to her mom, so this has hit her really hard. She is refusing to speak to him, which is making things difficult where it comes to managing her career. Some people at Columbia now think it would be better to move him aside”. Source.
Mathew has been a snake from day one. His long list of unfavoured discretions include corrupt, misconduct and sabotage towards his business associates, songwriters and former Destiny’s Child members. I am quite certain that Beyonce was very much aware of her father’s snake-like ways, but is only just deciding to put her foot down because of the public humilation he has caused upon herself and her mother. Could this latest debacle destroy her career? Can her high profile career manage without her father, the one who made her into who she is today?

This type of thing may be just what she needs as an artist. Sorta like her own “Confessions” maybe! No more of these random, minute made, minute rice albums she been making lately. Beyonce is who she is today because of her dirty father, so she should be thanking him. He has managed to buy her success, pay people to shut their mouths about her and stay their distance, so I don’t know about this one because people really know that Bey couldn’t direct traffic let alone her own career. However, she now has Jay-Z, so she’ll be alright, because he too, is just as manipulative as her father.

But those rumors died out when “I Am…Sasha Fierce” was finally released. Who knows…she might actually do it….
But either way, she’ll be fine. She is one of the biggest Pop/R&B female artists of this generation (along with Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga). I’m sure she’ll be ok. It would be different if she was trying to still develop. But she has already arrived and amassed a huge international fanbase. She’ll be just fine.

Single ladies was the only song from IASF that was #1 on the Hot 100 and I can see where she recieves a grammy for that but how did she recieve grammies for all those other non #1 songs that barely cracked the top 20 in the US? Oh I know, matthew knowles paid people so that his daughter would win regardless!
Etta James didn’t even win that much grammy for At Last and that’s still a timeless classic.
