I decided I was not going to wait up late to watch the world’s most anticipated music video at present and would catch it the moment I wake up the following morning. I’m glad I did though as I don’t feel that the Jonas Auckerland directed music video to Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s ‘Telephone’ matched the hype at all. Said to be a continuation of the ‘Paparazzi’ video, it was a decent effort for what it was worth. Undoutedly, the ‘Paparazzi’ and the ‘Bad Romance’ music videos were so much better.

It would be an understatement to say I’m a little pissed off that Gaga herself spent WEEKS teasing her little monsters with countless promo pictures and bigging it up to exceed the genius of ‘Bad Romance’. The point is, NEVER hype up a music video to gigantic proportions because you leave a gap in the wall for disappointment. I guess folks were furiously anticipating because the premiere of a Gaga video has now become a pop culture phenonenom itself in terms of hype. No one will ever be comparable to the late great Michael Jackson so let’s not even get ahead of ourselves with that foolishness.

That said, I like the jail concept with Beyonce coming to the rescue to bail her out. “Murderess” Gaga certainly would not have lasted much longer in a compartment full of female tough nut lags. In part, the dialogue had some comedic moments with Gaga ‘exposing’ herself and causing the prison guard to comment about her ‘absent’ penis. If you’re a follower of the ongoing Gaga rumours, she was alleged to be born a man (not true of course) but you know, there you have it.

The video certainly had a cinematic gloss to it and had you feeling as if you were in deed watching a mini movie. It’ll be interesting to see how they cut down a 10-minute vid into a 4-minute one. In part, I got a ‘Thelma and Louise’ vibe with the two female sidekicks on a car journey, running away from the law after their criminal activities (mass murder). However, the video itself was not epic, just decent, and I’m starting to notice Gaga’s obsession with death scenes in nearly all of her music videos now. It’s becoming really predictable. Oh well. Another one bites the dust eh? I’m not going to lie and say that Gaga’s showmanship isn’t to be admired but I expected better.

I give the video 8 out of 10…didnt really like beyonce’s parts…u can tell she was trying too hard & she looked out of place!
She probably can’t read and didn’t bother to read the script as she doesn’t bother to check whose outfits she steals, she was probably too concerned with what she LOOKED like to even pay attention and greenlighted it like she does when they lighten her skin.
Im sure IF she had looked and had the capacity to PROCESS she would have objected to SOME IDIOT and rather requested they say with a quizzical face…Who would bail you out…

Lady Gaga has been very clear about what she thinks of Beyoncé and how their collaborations went on. Beyoncé called Lady Gaga for “Video Phone” and Gaga called Beyoncé for “Telephone”.
Your opinion, which you are entitled to have (of course), makes no sense. “Some Idiot” was used to define the character in the video that got Gaga out. And “Stupid” means that whoever saved her is to dumb because she is a murderer. Get it?

This was a GREAT VIDEO. Step aside from the stan wars for a second. That goes for Beyonce stans too.
I think beyonce’s parts were fair, I mean it wasnt her video but the video was kinda about her. Also I would say beyonce had only what? like one day to shoot all she did including the dance scene that she learned while on set. so its understandable if she came off as “trying to hard” in all the video was a great production and I felt like I was watching a movie, it was cool!

THe video was cute….it was edgy, sexy, creative and unexpected…I hate story lines…video with a storyline to the lyrics are so boring because its expected…step out of the box and think and allow your imgination to flow….
I preferred “Paparazzi”’s music video, because it was just plain amazing. But I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed by this video. Lady Gaga is all about bringing in a spectacle, and she most certainly did with this video. If any other chick had gotten the song “Telephone” they would’ve done some dry ass video with them and a bunch of dancers dancing on some shiny ass floor, with fluorescent lights and LED’s flashing the word ‘Telephone’ in the background, and chicks skanky leg to the chorus with a phone in they hand. Trust Gaga to take the song and some in into some ‘Kill Bill’ like ish.
She succeeded with this video in a way Beyonce’s failed to with “Video phone”…horribly. I think Lady Gaga and Beyonce fans alike will be pleased with this video. As someone who has time for both ladies, I sure was!
It was fun to watch, and both ladies looked great. I thought it was very gracious of Lady Gaga to feature Beyonce so prominently.

The kidz are so easily pleased.
I thought it was just okay. I felt GaG-ah was tryna channel her inner MJ with the lengthy video approach, but ithe concept was a little all over the place (with the Freeway, Thelma & Louise, Kill Bill and Changed Heat references). The Yaki Whisperer certainly stepped up (just a little) on the acting. I can say I almost bought it.

I am a fan of both. The video just didn’t do it for me. It was all over the place; and Beyonce was more of a distraction than anything else. Loved the dancing, the jail scene, and the mass murder scene at the end. Unfortunately, never been a great fan of Bey’s acting.
